Contemporary/Lyrical
A style of Jazz & Ballet technique demonstrating clean, classical lines while emphasizing emotional interpretation of the lyrics in the music. Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical , and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Ages: 7 and up
A ballet class and/or jazz class is required
Class Attire
Dress
- Black leotard
- Tan tights
- Skin colored half soles
Hair
- Hair must be pulled back away from the face in a ponytail or bun
Boys
- T-Shirt
- Comfortable Shorts/Pants
- Black Ballet Shoes, Black Jazz Shoes, Black Tap Shoes
